His Constant Protection

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6)

This week I was rear ended for the first time. I had never been in a wreck or any sort of accident like this one before. I had always dreaded the day that it would happen. I also never imagined that I would be sitting in the driver seat when it happened.

The whole thing was very scary and I have been thinking about it a lot since it occurred, but the more I think about it, the more grateful I am. As frightening as the situation was, Jesus was protecting me in that moment. He had His arms wrapped tightly around me, even when I could not see it right away.

Even through that unsettling incident, God used me and taught me things. Growth came from this and made me more prepared for things yet to come.

Jesus has promised us that He will never leave our side and He will never stop protecting us. Whatever it is that you are going through, He is walking beside you, bearing your burdens. Even through all that has appeared to be nothing less than damaging, He has been there.

Take a moment to think all of the ways God has protected you in the past and in other incidents.

In Deuteronomy, He encourages us to be strong and hold the courage of the Lord within us. Through Him, we can be brave. He gives us the strength we need for each second of each day, all the while He protecting us persistently.

Dear Lord,
Thank You for Your protection this week. I ask for Your strength and guidance as I continue through my day. I am confident in Your greatness in each area of my life. You will never fail me or let me down. I love you and I keep my eyes on You.
